Evo back to the LAN event in person next year in Las Vegas

The largest annual combat event EVO returns to a person in Las Vegas in 2022. So far, the only official information announced is the duration of the three-day event: from August 5th to 7th.

This announcement took place at the end of the successful completion of Evo 2021, which included Street Fighters V, Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 7, Skullgirls and the last major Guilty Gear combat game. However, the event was forced to take place online because of the current pandemic, adding obstacles to the competition such as the entry offset.

The return to a person in person is awaited impatiently in all e-sports events - mainly due to live crowds - and EVO is no exception. In addition to a video gathering some of the biggest moments in the story of Evo, the Evo team summarized this feeling with its ad tweet: We loved the competition through our online events, But nothing beats live tournaments and in person between players around the world. »

The ad video includes Super Smash Bros. - One of the titles that was not included in EVO 2021. It is hoped that some of the games presented in the video will return to Evo in person.

Earlier this year, Sony has acquired EVO as part of a joint venture with RTS, a company led by the Sports Society and Content Endeavor. Since its creation, EVO has developed considerably - even by being presented by ESPN in 2016. It is hoped that this new acquisition by the big Sony Game Society will propel Evo to higher peaks. The great success of EVO 2021 online certainly gives credit to this idea.
